There has been an ambient light whose dissolution 
(an illusion caused by the planet blocking the sun)
lives on as a myth in our hearts while our song
joins the vibrating light still leaking through

SELVES

In our story the rats are central to the margins
which hem in the narrative preventing it from
fraying apart altogether as the story is woven
from the viewpoints of various different members
of the animal kingdom, from owls to snakes
and wolves and whales howling together at the moon
